EV Charging Cost Calculator
What one charge of your battery costs, at home or at a public charger, from the price per kWh.
Formula
Charging cost = Battery capacity (kWh) × Δ% / 100 / Charging efficiency (%) × Electricity price (per kWh)
Assumptions
Charging efficiency (≈ 90% on AC, higher on DC) covers charger/battery losses; real power tapers near full and in cold weather, so actual time can be longer.
How to read it
The real cost is mostly about the tariff: home charging off-peak is often 3–5 times cheaper than a highway fast charger. Charging losses (5–15%) are billed — you pay for what leaves the grid, not what ends up in the battery.
