What each kilometre costs you in fuel, from consumption and the price per litre.

Formula

Cost per km = L/100 km / 100 × Fuel price

Assumptions

Consumption and price held constant over the period: seasonal, driving-style and price variations are not modelled.

How to read it

This figure covers fuel only. For a full running cost (depreciation, insurance, maintenance, tires) use the true cost per kilometre — it is often 3 to 5 times the fuel-only number.
