Total cost over the period = Depreciation + Interest cost + Fuel / energy + Insurance + Maintenance

Assumptions

Constant annual depreciation and insurance/maintenance costs as you entered them: an order of magnitude, not a quote. It does not replace real market values or local prices.

How to read it

Total cost is dominated by depreciation and energy; the fuel you watch at the pump is often only a quarter of it. Cost per kilometre is the most useful figure — it makes two cars, a transit pass or a train trip comparable.
